Hey Matt,
Ever tried getting Age Of Empires Collector’s Edition or Civiliazation II Test Of Time to run in Windows 10? I’ve been messing around with these two recently, and can get them to function (more or less) in an XP virtual machine, but not natively in 10.

Hey Zero! I haven't yet but I'm downloading the iso for Civ2 now. Still looking for an AOE:CE iso. I'll get back to you.

Cool man, thanks. Those versions of both games were essentially compilations of the originals with all of the extension packs (though AOE:CE was both AOE1 and 2 plus expansions). Those final versions worked a lot better than the original games... I seem to remember regular Civ2 crashing all the time even on good ol’ XP.
By the way, how’s the new job going? Still allowing for enough time to mess around on the game site?

It's going well, thanks! Unfortunately, it doesn't leave much time for the site...or anything else! I'm working from 7 to 7 and I'm asleep by 9-9:30 most nights, so the time just isn't there like it was when I was 'funemployed'. I still love the site and trying to help people, but it's gotten tough.

Hey Zero -- I have a 3 day weekend here so I'd like to spend some time with these. What happens when you try to run Test of Time? I got it to install but it seems sort of crashy. Can you get that far or does it not run at all?

For Test of Time, I can do the full install and get the program to open. I can go through all of the options to start a game, but when it tries to create the world and actually begin, I get kicked back to the desktop without any error messages or anything. If I check the task manager, the program is no longer shown as running.
By the way, I don’t know what’s changed, but I just did a full install of AOE:CE again and it appears to work just fine now. Some of the text box graphics flicker a bit, but overall, it plays fine.

Matt, thank you. You've come through yet again. I don't know how you find this stuff, but it works great now.
