Hi Matt.
Followed the steps in the NHL2000 guide and when I try to run nhl2k.exe, it does nothing.

Hey Matt- First of all, THANK YOU! I have been wanting to revisit my NHL 98 game since upgrading from my XP computer back in 2002. I can't believe I just got to play a game. Your instructions are incredibly easy to follow and concise, and even a relatively inexperienced user like me found success. I had just one question. The game menu comes up in full screen, but it reverted to about 1/6 of my total screen when the actual game started. Do you know of a way to fix that? Thanks again! You rock!

Hi Matt, thanks for this epic tutorial! I´ve been waiting 15 yrs to see that intro again... However, after doing all the magic, the application will crash as soon as I want to start any game. Is there maybe a no cd option for NHL98? Or do you have another idea why this could happen? I`m trying out any possible gfx setting now...

Thanks again for this! It will steal my sleep for the next days....

I went through the trouble to fix NHL 99... only to be greeted by this error. Does this mean I'll have to go in a loop just to fix the game? Attachments:

hello, I know this is a 2 year old thread, but I need your help. Im trying to launch NHL 98, and I got it working on the main menu, but when I try to start a game, it starts loading, then crashes. I followed this tutorial here: classicgamefixes.wixsite.com/home/nhl-98 and I got my copy of the game from an original CD. Thanks

Hello. I know this thread is dead, but I'm trying to get Elitserien 2001, an add-on for NHL 2001, to run, but I can't find anything that will help me. I even went as far as to edit an NHL 2001 registry file as a last resort, and not even THAT worked. All I will ever get is CD-ROM read errors.

Here's how I got NHL 2002 to work on Windows 10 20H2 (64-bit) in Direct3D mode. 1. Install the full game to C:\Games\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002\ instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002\. 2. Run C:\Games\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002\3DSetup\3DSetup.exe as administrator and choose your options. Click "This program installed correctly" if the prompt comes up. 3. Download this no-cd fix. www.mediafire.com/file/ll84nw6ssitz91t/NHL2002-nocd.zip/file4. Unzip nhl2002.exe and RegSetup.exe into the NHL2002 installation directory. Let it overwrite nhl2002.exe. 5. Run RegSetup.exe as administrator. Click "This program installed correctly" when the prompt comes up. 6. Download this newer ddraw.dll. www.mediafire.com/file/xhzxtose5s96t3b/ddraw.zip/file7. Extract ddraw.dll into the NHL2002 installation directory.

Hi! I have Windows 10, and tried your method to get 2000 working earlier this year and it worked perfectly sans some minor but perfectly ignorable performance differences from the original (thank you so much by the way, I've always held this game dear to my heart since it was one of the very first I ever played and sparked my love for sports (hockey mostly) and games, and have always wanted a way to just fire it up whenever I wanted!), however I just tried it for the first time in months (haven't changed any settings whatsoever since) and it's telling me I have to insert the CD after the admin prompt. Do you know what's up with that? Thank you!

If you followed hh2002's instructions and applied RegSetup.exe in the past and NHL 2002 worked, apply it again. It should hopefully fix your problem.
