Hey ar. What operating system are you using, and what kind of video card?
Thoughts...I wish I had some. lol. If this is an older install you had on your system previously, the first thing I would try is uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. Then I'd be sure to add the dgvoodoo files before I tried running the game for the first time post-install.
For some reason, it's not seeing what it needs to be seeing. Like, when you add those dgvodooo files to the game folder, the next time you run the game, at the very least you should be getting a popup saying a change has been detected in your game, video hardware, or driver.

Hi there. I'm not sure but I'm always willing to try. What is the problem and which version of Windows are you using?

OK. I don't have a guaranteed solution, but I do have some things you can try. (1) At the screen where you checked Windows SP3 compatibility on the MCM2.exe, set it to Run as Administrator as well. Try launching again and see if it will give you an error. (2) If no change, try the game after deleting the dgvoodoo files out of the directory. (3) If nothing still, think I would go and uninstall the game. Not sure if you're handy with the registry editor; if not I can walk you through it. But the short version = press Windows key + R and type regedit at the run box. The MCM2 keys should be located in the following folder Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Motocross Madness 2 If the folder is still there even after you have installed the game, *delete* it. Then (1) Reinstall the game. I would not install to the default Program Files directory if I could help it. Program Files causes a lot of problems for games. Point it to C:\Games\MCM2, or something similar. (2) Re-add the d3drm file to your motorcross folder (3) Re-add the dgvoodoo files, only this time download the newest version (v.2.54) not 2.42. I wrote this article over 2 years ago - 2.42 was the newest back then but is quite dated now. (4) Rather than messing with the decrypter again just unzip the mcm2.exe from this link and replace the original. Set to Run as Administrator/Win SP3 as before. app.box.com/s/4aqyip1tvg7wh4k3aap3gpg7063oa074Hopefully you will at least get an error message at some point. Once you get an error we have something to work with.

Hi Lucas - I don't but I can make some suggestions lol
Have you tried setting the MCM2.exe to Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode? That fixed someone earlier in the thread. Also Run as administrator, of course. Someone mentioned disabling desktop composition, but you can't do that as far as I can tell in Windows 10. Which version of Windows are you on?
edit - one more thing you can try is checking to see if DirectPlay is enabled. Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > Legacy components > Check DirectPlay

Hi Jordan, Try downloading the no/cd crack from GameCopyWorld instead. Download, unzip the MCM2.exe to the Motocross Madness 2 folder (if you get asked for a password, it's gbw), then replace file when asked. Should be the same file you would get if you cracked it yourself. www.gameburnworld.com/gp/gamefixes/motocrossmadness2.shtml

I'd like to thank you for the excellent tutorial. It worked on my Windows 10 x64 computer, but only after I ticked the Windows XP compatibility mode (right click MCM2.exe go to "Compatibility" then enable Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode). I used to play this game all the time as a kid like 15 years ago, and now my kid gets to play it. He loves it. Thanks a bunch !

Hi Math, You probably won't answer since it's an old post but I try anyway. I just wanted to play this game again for no reason (boreness) and found your tutorial to make it work. I got improvements ! Now the game launch, I select one of the 3 (not 2) DgVoodoo DirectX Wrapper and the game launches... until it crashes instead of playing the video. Surely you won't see this but if you do, do you have an idea of how it could be fixed ? Thanks !

Thanks for these very useful instructions. I got it to work! I installed it before coming across your hack so there are some files in program files, but I copied the whole CD to c:\games\mcm2 and modded the files and added the extra ones in the copied GAME folder. Of course I had to redirect the desktop icon!! and I don't even need the CD in the drive to play the game. It remembers the dgVoodoo as the accelerator so I've turned off the select on startup, it's still as much fun as I remembered and with all the graphics options turned up it looks great even though it 640 x 480. My only tiny niggle is that it doesn't remember my preferred controller is mouse and always starts up as keyboard, probably always did. I originally played it with an analogue port joystick and would buy another one or even a wheel if I thought a USB one would work?? Thanks again for resurrecting this great game/simulator.
