Update on default controller. In the game folder/profiles/your profile name is control.ctl, this is a text file and the first line always get reset to 6 on start up even though it can have a different value at the end of a game. I've just swapped the key definitions of my preferred controller, 7 - mouse, with controller 6 - keyboard and that's it done.

Hi Matt - just dropping in to say a big "THANKS" - your MM2 guide just worked perfectly for me. Up until now I have failed to get it running full screen, full res and glitchless.

FYI: gamepciso has a cr4kd ver that works on WinLose10 (installed in 'Program Files (x86)' dir) after adding that d3drm.dll file.

Some of the better resolutions only work when "software rasterizer" is chosen and and choppy/slow, not really playable.

I'd like to try the Voodoo graphics thing but haven't yet.

I'd also like to try some 3rd party maps - WOW THOSE EXIST!!!

mounted the ISO,
installed MCM2,
replaced MCM.exe with no-cd cracked version
dgvoodoo2 installed in MM2 directory and dlls copied.
Game boots into main logo MCM2 screen (past "rainbow" logo) then crashes out back to desktop.

Changed all dgVoodoo setting to no avail. any ideas?

got into compatibility mode (xp sp2). can go through game menus but still crash out to desktop when any race is loaded. all antivirus and app blockers disabled.

added the dgvoodoo.exe and all Dlls in the main MCM2 folder on wind10 and im rippin enduro laps in 1080 graphics.
this thread helped me hopefully it will help others.

Hey Matt!

I followed your steps but the game is not quite working for me. I have windows 10 64 bit processor. I have the dgvoodoo.conf file created and the unsafedisc worked fine. The game starts, but if i click a button or wait 5-10 seconds, the game just shuts down with no errors.

Have you seen this before?

hi Matt, i can't open motocross madness 1 because when i try to open it, it tells me: "Please insert motocross madness cd", how can i fix?

same problem as sospeed except game freezes on opening screen. Did you guys find a working solution?

hey anybody know the exact string in the registry? no voodoo just the d3d dll file in both 86 and 64 folders on my win10 64 i got alot of hope when i slid disc in, supposedly just a minor adjustment and get the hardware to render will get it going?

Well did everything as followed, game opens fine intro a music fine, then in menu no sound but everythign works, when i choose everything then the game loads and before 100% it crashes without saying anything.

error log says this
16 processor(s), type 586.
1024 MBytes physical memory.
Write to location 00000000 caused an access violation.

dont know what to do now.

Hey Matt, Not sure how involved you are with the game being that the last post was 7 years ago, but thought I would reach out since you seem to be the only person knowledgeable on the subject. I would appreciate any assistance in getting this working. to outline the process that I followed.

I am running windows 10 pro 21H2

1.) I downloaded the iso from internet archive. (I have tried a few copies)
2.) I ran the set up file contained on the iso which installed mcm2 into program files 86/ microsoft games/ motorcross madness 2
3.) I was unable to use unsafe disk on the .icd so I used the file you commented in this thread (if I go to the game folder on the disk and target that icd file I am able to unsafe disk and follow that process. I have tried both ways.)
4.) I copy the new exe file to the motorcross maddness folder in my program files (I have also tried running the game through the aforementioned game folder that is present on the iso without running the set up file )
5.) I go through the dg voodoo process as shared in the posting.
6.) I copy in the additional d3drm.dll file which it says I need
7.) I run the file as administrator
8.) I select the correct dgvoodoo 3d card (I have tried all three options)
9.) the game starts
10.) shows microsoft logo, rainbow studios logo, the motorcross load screen
11.) game crashes

Motocross Madness 2 auf dem Steamdeck funktioniert wie folgt:
Die Dateien von der Iso kopieren nach home/deck/games/motocross Madness 2. Wichtig es muss dort hineinkopiert werden.
Danach das Spiel ganz normal installieren. Dazu die Setup.exe nehmen und unter SteamOS Proton Experimental auswählen. Wichtiges Spiel im Standardverzeichnis installieren sonst funktioniert es nicht.
Anschliessend den NoCD Patch ins Installationsverzeichnis kopieren und ersetzen. Anschließend mit der gleichen Setup.exe im SteamOS das Spiel starten. Nun wird es funktionieren
